Driver won't update/Causes screen record issues

Question asked by chased702 on Apr 26, 2018

Long (several weeks) story short, I've been having trouble with PowerPoint Screen Record function, and the videos coming out fuzzy for after about 60 seconds of recording. After dealing with Office/Pwpt support for a few weeks, they found out that disabling my AMD driver (Radeon HD 8400/R3, 15.201.1201.0) makes everything fine. Of course, I don't want to leave the driver disabled as I'm sure that will cause a problem with something else down the line.

The support tech noticed that the last update was on 8/10/15, so he uninstalled it, used Driver Booster 5 program to get the newest update. However, it seems to download the same driver. I'm guessing there is not a newer one then? Is there something else that can be done? Sounds like the Microsoft guys were out of ideas, and this conflict seemingly only occurs between AMD and PowerPoint. Still, like I stated, I'd rather not simply disable the driver permanently. Any help would be appreciated!
