Dirt Rally poor performance on Ubuntu Linux

I'm having serious issues running games on Linux. If I run on Windows I have no problem sustaining 60 fps on max quality settings for Dirt Rally (Steam) with a 3 monitor eyefinity setup. But if I switch over to linux and play it there I have issues. I disconnected 2 of the monitors. The home screen of the game lags horribly and runs about 3-5 fps. The game gives me weird rendering glitches (like bushes turning white) and the game struggles to run 40fps on medium quality. I'm running the latest drivers on Ubuntu 16.04.
