    graphic card type has changed

    stepik

      Hi,

when I bought my laptop I checked graphic card type. It was reporting AMD Radeon R7 M465, which is correct. However,  today I updated drivers and it suddenly reports graphic card type AMD Radeon R7 M350. Please see screenshots attached.

Does anybody have a clue what could be the problem?

      Many thanks for suggestions.

The Crimson drivers for Mobility products are "REFERENCE" drivers, which means they use common device IDs to report on the actual GPU in the system.

Laptop graphics are heavily customized by the laptop manufacturer and if you want all the features of the laptop to work as originally provided, you will need to use the drivers they provide.

Apart from displaying the card using a different device ID, this has no other impact on your system.
