    1700x throttling at 75 C

I baught the Ryzen 1700x a while back and have since then had some serious problems with what seems like thermal throttling. However, my CPU throttles at 75C as reported by the latest version of AMD ryzen master and Hwinfo. There is no overclock on the CPU and I’m running a very beefy cooler: the Noctua NH-D15.

I have tried changing thermal paste, updating bios and putting more fans over VRM.

      Ryzen 1700x throttling at only 75 C

      Other components

Moterboard: Gigabyte ab350n-gaming Wifi (Bios 6a)

      RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000Mhz

      GPU: MSI Gaming X 1080

Additional info I think is relevant:

While stresstesting the CPU the VRM temperatures on the motherboard reaches about 110C. At idle they are at much lower temperatures.

I am very thankful for any suggestions!

The VRMs shouldn't be getting anywhere near 110°C. You need to go to Gigabyte's support forums or file a ticket with Gigabyte support because that is decidedly a fault, and DO NOT stress test the system again unless instructed to by Gigabyte.
