AMD Radeon R5 1GB maximum resolution

I have a new monitor Dell U2715H connected to a couple of years old AMD Radon R5 1GB Graphics card. The driver is the latest. This is a Windows 10 machine with all the updates.

The monitor supports up to 2560x1440.

I am using an HDMI 1.3 High speed cable.

Shouldn't I be seeing this resolution ? The highest it gives me is 2048x1152.

I understand the GPU is not the top of the line but this is not intended for gaming, only office applications / software development stuff.

I found a hack online to add an additional resolution in regedit, but this just gave a black screen so no avail.

Anyone has an idea how to do this, apart from just buying a new graphics card?
