    wrong card detected

Hello there. I just got a new laptop which has an AMD Radeon R5 M420 2GB. This had the 16.x driver and I updated it to 17.3 but now it says that there is an AMD Radeon HD 8500M. I tried uninstalling the drivers and then installing them again manually but still it gets me the wrong card. What should I do?

The AMD Crimson drivers provide generic support for laptop products, therefore, laptop graphics cards may be referenced using a common device ID.

This has no impact on performance.

If you want the GPU to be identified under the original name, you will need to use drivers provided directly by the laptop manufacturer.
