Nvidia Annoucnes GeForce GTX 1070 Ti: Official Prices, Pre-order And Specifications
And it seems Wall Street is not happy, and who would be considering it's going to be superior and cheaper to Vega 56, and likely faster than Vega 64 when overclocked? Wonder if Lisa Su has been tempted to pick up the phone, call Raja Koduri, and tell him not to worry about returning from sabbatical?
Not good. Noticeably faster or, in the worst cases, slightly faster, than the Vega 56 model, but much more power efficient. Saving grace for Vega is that AMD's Radeon RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 are selling at sane prices today | PCWorld but putting up with a reference edition cooler can give you a massive migraine.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB Review - Tom's Hardware
I agree with the statement about AMD's reference cooler on Vega 64. I couldn't get a passing run on Time Spy stress test even in balanced mode. Turbo mode is essentially useless as you'll hit temp base throttling pretty quickly. Hardly creep past 40C using my EKWB based custom loop however.
why not compared it to a Vega56 and see how it fairs?
It's a better card than the RX Vega56 And it's cheaper. Here in Canada anyway.
GTX 1070 Ti $629.98
RX Vega56 $749.00
The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti brings a strong sense of déjà vu | PC Gamer
GTX 1070 Ti is $50 more expensive than the Vega 56 here in the US, and $50 cheaper than Vega 64.
I feel like Vega 56 is probably still the better buy, as with a BIOS swap you can essentially get Vega 64 performance for $399.
Vega still uses the useless jet engine of a cooler, whereas the 1070Ti uses a custom cooler plus overclocks like crazy. That $50 doesn't mean much.
Not only do I save $50, but I give developers just a little bit more incentive to adopt open standards like Havoc, Freesync, and AMD based optimizations as opposed to Gameworks and G-sync. Not like my gaming experience will suffer tremendously by going AMD.
right now looking at the lowest priced 1070 Ti and vega 56 on Newegg Canada,The 1070 Ti is $100 cheaper
You ain't lying...Wow.
Looks like it would be a good replacement for your Fury black_zion . Bite the bullet.
Sure, just give me $600 so I can afford it. I'm still paying off
If I had your money I'd throw mine away. Lol.

Prices in Canada are often way out of line. It pays to check prices widely before making a purchase.
1070Ti in Canada is a lot cheaper than the vega 56. 1070 Ti has less power draw and custom coolers,Gives me reason to switch for the 1st time since 2002 ,If I was looking to upgrade now I would go 1070Ti.
Thanks for the info. The more powerful the card is - the better, simply because competition is always good for the customers.
