Okay, I've had this happen for awhile but usually it'd fix after I reinstalled the drivers, but not anymore. When going to install my drivers for my AMD Radeon HD8970M, sometimes it will fail to start up AMD Radeon Settings and say "No AMD driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate to your hardware" so I usually just uninstall the driver and try again and it works, but now everything will be fine but then out of no where it says something about my graphics card changing and pops up as the AMD Radeon R9 M290X in Device Manager. Trying to use DDU and reinstall will cause it to work for a couple minuets and switch back to the wrong GPU again, I don't know what to do or understand what's happening, please help.
My computer spec:
AMD Radeon HD8970M
Its the Alienware 17 Laptop.
Also might want to add that im using the 17.7.2 version of Radeon Software.
Without knowing what OS? Here's a guess..
4. Delete the contents of the C:/AMD folder of all previous drivers
5. Win10 users..take the necessary steps to prevent/delay Microsoft automatically changing/installing graphics drivers using one of these methods > Windows 10 Forums
