Why no digital signature on ... Causing cryptoMalware alert.

Question asked by sitedrifter on Oct 13, 2017

The past two updates to my AMD drivers via the AMD Settings App on windows 10, are causing my A/V software to throw up warnings about cryptoMalware.

My A/V vendor says the file the AMD settings app downloads is not digitally signed and they are correct. However, when you download the driver directly from AMD it is digitally signed.

I suspect this is either a mistake on AMDs part (which is bad in this day and age) or we have a ccleaner type of infection going on where the supply chain .exe is infected.

I attached the file that the AMD settings app downloaded for your review. I hope my PC is not infected and would like to see what AMD has to say about this.

Thanks for any input you can provide
