updating to 17.9.3 causes a system crash

Hi all, I've run into a problem when updating my drivers to the latest (beta) version 17.9.3, I've tried updating from the previous version and a clean  install after running DDU in safe mode and in both instances it results in my system booting normally, then as soon as i'm in windows and either open an explorer window or chrome the screen glitches for a second before either completely freezing or rebooting, this only happens with 17.9.3 and not on my secondary OS or after doing a rollback to 17.7.2.

My specs:

GPU: Saphire Radeon R9 380 4GB GDDR5

OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Mobo: asrock 970 pro3 r2.0

CPU: FX-6300

PSU: Corsair 550W

Ram: 16GB DDR3 (UC @ 1333)

Can anyone give me some pointers as to what is going wrong?

The installation works just fine, no errors whatsoever and it's only after rebooting that the problems begin.
