    Checkerboard screen artifacts R9 290


      Had this card for two years and has worked great until this last week.  Now, after booting Windows a checkerboard shaped pattern of black dots appears over the screen.  Changed monitors and DVI cables to no avail. 


      Downloaded latest drivers, and during the Radeon Settings app install the issue briefly disappeared while at the same time the device manager and GPU-Z could no longer identify the graphics card.  Reappeared as driver install finished (and card reappeared in devices).  Did a clean driver install with DDU and failed to notice any changes during of after install.


      Curious to know if this is somehow driver related, or this is the end of the line for this GPU.  Attaching AMD problem report summary, but basic specs are:
