Win 10 Update Changed The Look Of My Display

Hello All

Been happily using Win 10 Home 64bit for easily over a year now. Absolutely no complaints.

Then last night I noticed my login screen looked different (stretched) after an update restart.

When I logged in, everything looks stretched. Like a 4:3 stretched to 16:9.

Nothing looked sharp anymore.

I actually changed it to 4:3 and it looked sharp again then back to widescreen where it looked stretched again.

I changed screen resolutions, checked my display adapter driver was ATI Radeon 3000 and forced my monitor driver AOC F22s to replace the Generic pnp monitor. I even uninstalled the last 2 updates.  All to no avail.

Still the same look (stretched) and not sharp like it was yesterday before the updates.

I checked my ATI Radeon 3000 and it's under 'not supported by Win 10'. But I have enjoyed a crystal clear display for the past year or so.

Have I just been getting away with it for the past year?

Have Microsoft caught up with me and I'm now forced to buy a new graphics card?

All thoughts/experiences will be read with interest.

Microsoft reply:

Hi Gordon,

There may be compatibility issues with your graphics card driver and your Windows 10 after the update. In this case, we suggest that you contact the graphics card manufacturer to check if there's an updated driver that is compatible with Windows 10.
