- What is the make and model of your PSU? "500 watt PS" is meaningless. The HD 7850 pulls 130w and HD 7870 pulls 175w, much more than the 66w your HD 6670 pulled. PSUs lose ~2% maximum power output per year due to capacitor aging, so a 10 year old 500w PSU is only capable of about 82% of its brand new capacity.
- What is the make and model of your motherboard? Newer graphics cards can have issues with older systems, and I assume that your system is about 10 years old since you are using Vista.
- Are you sure the card works? I am assuming it is used as it is 5 years old.
Also, there are Vista drivers available, but you will be limited to Catalyst 13.12. Also, Microsoft ended support for Vista in April of this year, so it should not be used if you are connected to the internet.
Thank You for the responce.
MOBO is Pegatron Narra3 (OLD) v 302.2 Have looked it up!
The generic 500w (years old) PS is going up to 750 -800 TODAY.
Tried to install card and it does NOT show in windows even being in the pci 16 slot! YET I can install A x300 video board to that same pci slot and it comes up.
The 6670 card went crazy in that same slot, POSSIBLE PWR SUPPLY?
