should I update the chipset drivers?
No. Update or install on clean system - just No.
If I do, would I benefit from it, like better performance, or better stability?
Nothing of that. But, instability, constant hdd/ssd access, or even bsods. Stay on Microsoft standard drivers AHCI/Chipset.
