I've been using an AMD Sapphire 7970 for the past 5 years and it recently starting dying. The computer will no longer consistently start up while the card is in the computer. It runs perfectly fine without the card physically in the computer other than the expected blurriness in games with only integrated graphics.
I'm trying to figure out what on the card is the issue. I believe its either a chip issue or one of the capacitors. There's no artifacts on the screen, but pretty quickly into graphic intensive games the screen will suddenly change to a different color and freeze. On lower graphic intense games it will last longer before crashing. The crash screen is not always the same color
I'm using 64bit windows 10 on a desktop
all drivers are/were up to date
motherboard is ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard LGA 1155 Intel Z77
CPU is an intel i7-3770k 3.5 GHz
Power supply Corsair HX 750 watt 80 plus
RAM G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Unfortunately I think your GPU memory may be faulty.
