I'm currently running Minecraft 1.8.8 while this is happening. It appears to happen in any game version regardless of the number of clients I run.

I run the game at the lowest settings possible because I'm not into fancy stuff.

No screens exist, but just imagine a blank white scree with java crashing. Java is currently fully updated as well as my Minecraft Launcher.

My son plays this game on a public server and I'm one of the staff (well its a public server so I'm making sure hes safe). I'd really like to figure out whats going on when my light gaming computer cannot handle this game, but an outdated laptop can.
