    AM4 X370 motherboard processor compatibility

Thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen CPU, but cannot fully commit yet with the prospect with zen 2 being on 7nm within a year or two.
Will AM4 X370 boards support zen 2 chips ? AMD did mention it would use the AM4 socket for 5 years but does that say anything about the x370 chipset as well?

I'm a Ryzen Hoarder, with a Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 5 1600X and a Ryzen 5 1500X. The Ryzen 5 1600X is currently installed on an Asus Prime X370-Pro with the Beta Bios  0803 containing the new AGESA 1.0.0.6 running Windows 10 version 1703 OS Build 16199.1000 Windows Insider Preview, the Ryzen 7 1700 is currently installed on an Asus Prime B350-Plus with the 0803 bios running Windows 10 1703 Build 16199.1000, and the Ryzen 5 1500X is on another Asus Prime B350-Plus.

I couldn't tell you what CPU to get because I'm a tech addict and like them all but if I were you I would get a Ryzen that suits your current budget, the Ryzen 5 1600X is a favorite as is the Ryzen 7 1700.
