Hello. I have an ASUS M4A89GTD Pro motherboard which is about 6 years old. I am interested in upgrading the video card to the RX 560 series. The motherboard manual indicates that it has a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, but it looks like the RX560 uses PCIe 3.0 and I am not sure if the card is backward compatible to 2.0. How can I find out if this board is compatible with the newer video card?
All PCie 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCie 2.0.
More importantly, you should confirm that you have an adequate power supply for the new card.
