- I don't quite follow. Which passive adapters are you referring to?
- Is this a brand new card you purchased?
- Most likely you have a defective board.
I'm using standard minidisplayport to display port cables like this one :
I 've read somewhere, maybe in amazon or newegg comments, that I don't need any kind of adapters if I 'm using displayport cables even if I have a minidisplayport to displayport cable.
I purchased an used card in ebay.

Passive or Active adapters refer only to signals of a different kind. Both mDP and DP have the same "displayport signals" hence the terminology "passive" or "active" in combination with mDP-DP adapters is wrong. It refers only to adapters that change the type of signals, like displayport signal to digital signal (HDMI, DVI), which can be passive or active, or displayport signal to analog signal (VGA), which can be only active.
You must have a faulty card, if you don't see or can't activate the monitors in Windows display manager.
