windows 10 not booting with ahci enabled

Hi I have a gigabyte ga890fxa ud5 (bios f6, board rev 2.1). This works fine in windows 7 with ahci enabled. But with W10 its not working.



with sata type as ahci, both w10 install and usb media, will stall at the spining dots.

With sata type as ide - I can install w10 and then have enabled ahci drivers (amd sata drivers from the hseries folder).


I have tried both the amd sata drivers and ms sata drivers for the controller; that doesn't work in ahci mode.


I plan to change over to a ssd shortly .. so this test install was to see if the mobo works in w10
