I want to upgrade my PC and am considering a Ryzen CPU but have a budget of only about $500 for mobo, chip, and memory. Any suggestions?
Buy the Ryzen 1600X for $249 it is a very good value. It is a 6 core cpu with 12 threads, Very good performance. It shames an I7 6800K . For a motherboard get an MSI B350 Tomahawk for about $120 to $130 dollars. The rest spend on two 8GB dimms ddr4 3200 cl 14-14-14-34. They will be able to run at full specification on Ryzen. Check out a kit from G.Skill. Make sure you don't buy higher cas latency dimms. You will regret it ! As they probably will NOT run at 3200mhz.
os2wiz, That is exactly the kind of info I need. Thanx much for it! One more question: can you suggest a good graphics card to go along with it?
How much are you willing to spend for the graphics card???
I can probably do in the $100 range, not much more. Do you think the integrated graphics on the mobo might be enough?
Ryzen motherboards and cpus DO NOT have integrated graphics. Try an AMD
RX 550 cpu or RX460 cpu.It may be a ittle bit more than $100 not much more
thanx again for all your help. It has make my work easier.....
