Problem with shadows being cast, screen darkening abruptly...

Question asked by mtkbn on Apr 24, 2017

//PROBLEM:

Each time that I approach a corner or something where there might be a bit of a shadow, the screen goes very dark, and it's as if I'd walked into a very dark room. The pictures attached are of me taking about half a step forward towards a wall, where the room goes from having decent light to virtually none. This is the worst in "Amnesia: The Dark Descent", but I've found that it's also happening a little bit on "Fallout: New Vegas".

//WHAT I'VE TRIED:

-Updating the drivers.

-Disconnecting the other screens, and turning off and on again.

-Putting the resolution at the absolute minimum and restarting the game and system.

-Reinstalling the game.

None of this has had any effect.

     The second last one is the graphics card that I have my main display hooked up to, and I also have another two screens hooked up to the graphics card on the motherboard, which is an ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-M PRO (LGA1155). The two HP L1950's are those graphics cards.
