I currently have a Radeon HD 6800 and I am looking to upgrade.
I mainly use Recording software and Adobe suit packages, what would be recommended?
all help welcome
That depends on a few things: budget, motherboard, and how much more performance you want.
Hi, thanks for the response.
The performance I would like as a result of this potential upgrading is non stuttery/lagging machine. I'd like to be able to open programmes (such as illustrator and music recording software) and they just work as they should so I can create.
Opened up the PC and on the motherboard is: ASUS M5A78L/US83.
Incidentally on the graphics card itself is written, radeon HD6870. it was PC diagnostics provided me with the information it was HD 6800.
I also have 8gb (2x4gb) memory (corsair), with two slots available on the motherboard..would doubling what I currently have aid PC performance?
regarding budget is under £200 unrealistic?
what psu do u have
Not anymore. SAPPHIRE Pulse Radeon RX 570 MINI 4G GDDR5 HDMI/DVI-D/DP Graphics Card - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories is £174, and has the same 150w TDP as your HD 6870, so it's going to work. Your motherboard doesn't have UEFI, but vaporx can tell you if it will work on that front (GTX 1000 and RX 400/500 series cards may have issues with non UEFI boards). As for performance...How does a 243% increase in performance sound?
