The A8-6600K has four CPU cores. Windows incorrectly reads it as 2 cores and 4 logical threads.
CPU-Z will correctly confirm the number of CPU cores present on your APU.

It does that because it shares CU's (compute units or L2 Cache) between 2 cores. The 8 core FX processors show as 4 core 8 thread but are not hyper threading either.
