lost sound after updated always happens this time unable to restore sound I us my monitor as the speakers
You might possibly use HDMI port connecting your monitor towards your computer, if so, the sound came from the processor or graphics card, not the HDA controller located on the south bridge chipset. I do not understand what you mean 'after update', update what? Update the drivers or upgrade the Windows 10 from RS1 to RS2? I don't know the detail information of your system, but you have to make sure or set AMD/Intel/NVidia HDMI Output as the Default Device before you could hear the sound from your monitor like the screenshot below,
Every time AMD does a update of the video card, I have lost the sound this has been going on for the last year or so. Each time I have been able to restore sound as you have described. However this time I have not been able to restore sound in that manner. I have tried everything nothing works. If I can't resolve i will replace video card with a different brand I am tired of this being a common routine.
A update should not mess up a system ever time.
I finally found the problem the update changed my ASUS monitor sound settings, that has never happen before that is why I didn't look there until know.
Yeah, good, congratulations!
