Not much of an upgrade, and you must now use Windows 10 instead of 7 or 8.1. Do note that this comparison does not take into account the performance penalty Ryzen suffers in games if they are not optimized for Ryzen's architecture, which as of this post is only Ashes Of The Singularity.

I  have always used Windows 10 Pro and love it, no problem there ! I'm always amazed at the number of people   who resist change. Change is inevitable and there's nothing you or anyone else can do to stop it ! The facts are my Ryzen 7 1700 does outperform my i7-4790K, am I surprised? No, the Windows and gaming experience not to mention the productivity applications are just three reasons to move on to cutting edge technology. Also not to mention that my last AMD processor was an Opteron 185, so I'm pretty excited like many were when AMD released their dual core lineup many moons ago. Back then the gaming community was AMD.
