I been experiencing some very nasty "Pauses" or "Freezes" on Doom with Vulkan and VSync Disabled, i just got the game less than two months ago so i do not know if the issue was present prior to that. I also seem to be only person in the whole friggin world having this issue, because i tried searching a ton of different forums and i see no one else having this proble. My issue happens at any resulotion with any game setting as long as Vulkan enabled and VSync is Disabled, once you enable VSync the issue is Completely gone... but it defeats the purpose of Vulkan giving more FPS than OpenGL. So far this is the only game that i seen this behavior since i also Play GTA5, SkyrimSE, Tomb Raider (2013), Shadows of Mordor, TheWitcher3 and DragonBall Xenoverse and all work perfectly fine no issues at all.

Forgot to Add, with OpenGL 4.5 in Doom the issue is non existant.

The issue is sort of like the game freezing or pausing only for a few seconds then continues as if nothing had happen, it usually last from 1-3 second but i experienced instances where the damn mini "Freeze" lasts for a whooping 16 seconds, and it makes the game completely unplayable due to the constant and random Freezes/Pauses.

I was doing some tests with GPUz running in the background while playing Doom Multiplayer (w/Vulkan Vsync off) when right in the middle of a MP DeathMatch i experienced 3 different "Pauses" and as soon as i experienced a big one lasting more than 10 seconds i quickly Alt+Tab out of the game and i noticed in GPUz that the GPU Memory Clock dropped to 300Mhz everytime the issue happen. I have attached a Screenshot of GPUz and you can see 3 different instances where the pauses happen, and the last one was a big one that lasted for around 10 seconds. When the issue happens it does not Lock my PC, i can still alt+tab out of the game or even call Task Manager, but the game itself seems to stop responding and then continues normally.

I believe the issue happen also on Crimson Relive 17.1.2, (i skipped 17.2.1 because i was experiencing Mouse Cursor Corruption) so i waited for 17.3.1 and Doom Freezing Momentarily issue is still present.

Like i said before, the issue is gone once i enable VSync, but i sort of want to play Doom MP with 100+ fps... so having VSync On is not ideal for me. Besides everyone keep posting videos with vulkan enabled and no one else seems to be having this issue. I doubt my GPU is defective since i do not experience Heat issues, CTDs or BSoD. Every other game i own works fine, it's just the combination of Doom w/ Vulkan and VSync Off.

Things i Tried:

Completely remove Doom and Reinstall

Remove Vulkan Libraries in Add Remove/Programs&Features, Reinstall Vulkan Libraries.

Completely removed Crimson Relive with DDU and Reinstall Latest Crimson Relive.
