I belived I've searched for an answer but if I missed one please forgive me----I'd like a definite yes or no whether an AMD Phenom II X4 970 processor can run "all day long" at a max temp around 62* C without affecting longevity? This is a home build computer but I could dig out more details if needed.
Monitoring is via CoreTemp, the CPU usage may hover about 50% for 60 minutes or so several times during a 14 hour day. Typically I'll be downloading an .nzb file while ripping a DVD. I have experimented with converting video formats from .wtv to MKV or .mp4 but terminated that process as my temp seemed to rise well above the 62* C point I believe is highest recommended temp. To date I've never noticed any loss of performance during other tasks such as browsing the 'net. nothing too intensive it seems, CPU use temps seeming to not spike.
So just basically need to know if what I'm doing is harmful to my hardware?
Thanks in advance for any definite direction!
