Radeon HD 8570 boots directly to bios

Question asked by drthundr on Mar 9, 2017

Good morning.

I have and Asus P8H67-M LX Bios version 1701 (no new updates on the website)

Windows 10 64bit, 8GB RAM

I had an ATI Radeon HD 4670 and replaced it with a Radeon HD 8570.

Everything worked fine with the 4670.  As soon as I put the 8570 in, it went directly into the ASUS bios.  I cannot get past that screen.  I made sure PEG/PCI was selected.  I reset defaults in the bios.  Still nothing.  I put the old card back in and it fired up, no problem.

The 8570 does not require a power source.  The 4670 does and it uses the PCIe and PCI ports (4 monitors).  The 8570 just uses the PCIe port.  I'm not sure if power is an issue.  I'm not sure how large my PSU is.  I'll have to check later on.

Any ideas why it won't boot to Windows?  Is the 8570 compatible with my motherboard and vice versa?

Thanks in advance!
