Yes, it has a higher maximum operating temp.
But higher maximum temperature doesnt mean that the processor will get hotter it just means it can operate without worries at a higher temperature than the other one
So does it mean the fx would be cooler than the phenom?
Yeah, per the real meaning of TDP, Thermal design power, the lower one would produce the less heat when using the same heatsink. So FX 8300 would be cooler than the Phenom II X4 965.
Thank you really much for the reply. How come asrock suggests me to use top-down blowing cooler for fx processors , even if some of them run cooler and with less voltage than the phenom ones ? Thanks in advance.
Bulldozer based processors used different means to measure TDP and the power supply system also happen to change. I think you'd better follow Asrock's suggestion, using top-down blowing cooler would be much better. But in my own experiences, the traditional cooler for AMD Phenom would also apply for your processor if it designed for 95W TDP.
