I just bought my r9 290 (used) installed the latest drivers and....It doesnt is the problem.
The gpu works great until i launch a game ,then a few minutes after every game crashes,i checked everything, ram is fine, cpu is fine, then i tried a different psu and a different mobo but still the same problem occurs.I tried to install all drivers, older ones, new ones, clean install windows, drivers(with ddu) everything, the temps are more than Ok for this card,(40-45 on idle,90-93 on 100% load (celsius)),switching the bios on the gpu(uber and quiet on the gpu switch),but the problem is still there,it doesn't crash the whole pc,it just crashes to the desktop,it also happens with benchmarks(valley,heaven,furmark..etc).I changed the thermal paste, and cleaned the gpu inside, still doesnt work.
MOBO:Gigabyte z270x Ultra Gaming
GPU:R9 290 asus refference
RAM:16GB DDR4 2400mhz KINGSTON hyper x fury 1pcs
cooler for cpu:Coolermaster hyper 103 led
Sounds like a faulty GPU. Can you try it in another system?
