      Motherboard: Gigabyte 990X

      CPU: FX 8350

      RAM: 8GB of DDR3-1600 (4x2)

      PSU: 500W

      OS: Win 10-64 bit

Card 1: 5850 Eyefinity edition (Driver Version: 15.200.1062)

      Card 2: RX 480 8gb (Driver Version: 21.19.137.514)

I have always used my 5850, with it providing me with 6 screens for work purposes. I had recently got into games which was way out of the 5850's league, so decided to add another graphics card with my Motherboard having 2 PCI slots, My plan was to use the RX 480 for gaming and the eyefinity to simply run the other screens. When installing the drivers for my RX 480 the drivers for my 5850 also update to the same version as the rx 480 (21.19.137.514), which it obviously cant run and all I get in windows device manager is "Device is not working properly" but my RX 480 works fine. I then decided to downgrade the 5850 to the version it should be on, which all works fine. but the issue is my Rx 480 now comes up with the error "Device is not working properly".

My question is. Are these 2 cards not able to work together? If not, Is there a solution at all to this problem? What I was trying to achieve is not possible?
