Why do I have so many duplicate amd files?

My C drive is getting full. I did a search for duplicate files and found very many AMD files listed as duplicates. Is there a safe way to eliminate unnecessary duplicates?

In the default unpack destination (C:/AMD) you can delete folders from old driver versions. Take mine, for example, anything that's not 17.1.1 could be deleted, that'll save 300-800MB each.

Thanks for the reply! I did some deletions based on your advice. I am, however, ashamed to admit that the largest set of files taking up space on the drive were system volume information files. There were many of these files and each was very large. These are restore points. Using CCleaner I eliminated all but two of these and I gained about 45% more disk space. I usually keep track of the restore points and don't let too many accumulate. Now I set up my system to only use 5% of disk space before eliminating older restore points to make space for newer ones.
