    How to Upgrade Graphics for 6 monitors on ASUS P8H61-M LE?

      I'd like some advice/opinion on appropriate upgrade configurations for 6 monitors on an ASUS P8H61-M LE motherboard in a CoolerMaster Elite 431 Plus case.  I'm not too experienced in this field.  A little knowledge . . . .

      Currently I'm running SoftXpand Miniframe with 4 monitors (separate workstations each with their own keyboard, mouse and headphones).

      I have:

        CPU: Intel Core i5 2450 @ 3.10 GHz     8GB RAM

        On-Board Graphics: Intel HD 2500Graphics, Driver Version 9.17.10.2932, 2 ports DVI-D DL, VGA

        Graphics Card:  Power Color Radeon HD6670, Driver Version 14.12, DVI-I DL, VGA, HDMI, PCIe 2.1 x16 slot

      Monitors:

        Samsung 223BW 21.6" LCD/TFT active matrix DVI cable (Ports: VGA, DVI-D)

        LG E2342T-BN 23" LCD/LED flat screen   DVI cable (Ports: VGA, DVI-D)

        Dell M783S 17" Flat panel SVGA CRT Monitor   VGA cable

        hp Pavilion M703  17" VGA CRT   VGA cable

      The Motherboard has one PCIe x16 slot and two PCIe x1 slots.  The GPU completely covers one of the PCIe x1 slots and the other is only accessible using a cable and header.  SoftXpand says it might not work if you use a DisplayPort-VGA adapter.

       

      I administer a small training center in a village in Udon Thani province in Northeastern Thailand.  The technical college in the provincial capital has asked me to take 8 interns in March and April and another 4 from June to September.  I may have another 2 interns from Cal Poly SLO at the same time.  At any time, at least half of them will be using Inventor or AutoCAD 3D mechanical design.  Our accountant uses one workstation.  I am looking for funding to upgrade the system to six workstations.  I'd like some recommendations on cards and ways to do this.  I have done some research and I have a couple ideas:

       

      Intel Core i7-3770 (3.4G,L3:8M,iGPU,4C,HT.VT-d,77W,rev.E1) (There is no AMD CPU that could be used, is there?)

        RAM: DIMM 8GB DDR3 1333-1066 Hz Non-ECC UN-buffered (2 cards)

      Monitors (Additional): LED 23” with DisplayPort, DVI-D and HDMI ports Samsung S24E450DL 1920x1080 (2 monitors)

      Video Cards:

          Power Color Radeon HD6670, Driver Version 14.12, PCIe 2.1 x16 slot (400W) existing

          AMD FirePro™ 2270 1GB, PCIe 2.0 x1 port  (15W)

             Riser Card with Flexible Cable, PCIe x1

             DMS 59 to Dual DisplayPort adapter cable (2 DisplayPort ports)

        DisplayPort cable, 4 meters

        DisplayPort cable, 6 meters

       

      Or,

                The 2 existing LED monitors would be connected to the on-board VGA, DVI-D ports. The VGA-CRT monitors would retire.

      DisplayPort cable, 4 meters (2)

      DisplayPort cable, 6 meters (2)

       

      Any help thinking about specifications would be appreciated.
