I am currently without functioning graphics drivers because they continually refuse to install. I download the installer (I have tried both auto-detect and manual select), opened it and the installation appears to proceed until I am greeted with a message saying "16.12.1 driver has not been installed".
I have tried the following, all with the same outcome:
-Updating from an old version to the current version
-Uninstalling old drivers then installing the current drivers
-Installing an older version of the drivers
-Uninstalling old drivers, using the clean tool, cleaning up with DDU and CCleaner, and then installing the current drivers
On my most recent attempt I was greeted instead with the message "16.12.1 driver has been partially installed" but the drivers do not appear to be functional.
My specifications are as follows
Graphics Card: XFX Radeon R9 280
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64bit
Driver Version Installed: None, currently
Display Devices: Philips 234E5QDAB/00 23" IPS LED 1080p Monitor 60Hz
Motherboard: Gigabyte H87M-D3H
CPU: Intel Core i5 4440
Power Supply: Corsair CX600 600W Bronze
RAM: 8GB Crucial DDR3 1600MHz
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
You must fully update Win 8.1 before trying to install any AMD driver. Go to Windows Update and run it. If you DO NOT get the message "There are no updates for your computer"...then keep installing them until you get that message. Then you can install the correct drivers > Desktop These latest drivers have issues for some people, if so, you can install a previous version > Previous
