CPU: Intel i5 6600K @ 4.6GHz

Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VIII

RAM: G.SKill TridenZ DDR4

PSU: Corsair CXM 740W

Operating System & Version: Windows 10 A Edition

GPU Drivers: 16.12.2

Chipset Drivers:

Background Applications:

Description of Problem: RX 480 would crash during games ranging from Red, Brown, and Black screen crash. Did not happen to my GTX 780. I do notice a coil whine during benchmark, Can't confirm if it's PSU or GPU. However It's extremely random and does not happen when browsing web or light games like Prison Arch & Skyrim.

Troubleshooting: Solution I tried but did not work

  • rerolling to 16.7.2 and using DDU in safe mode (More Stable performance but still crash)
  • Tune down CPU clock speed to 4.0GHz (CPU was not problem)
  • Undervolting GPU via Wattman at Stage 6 & 7 at 1250 (default 1280 & 1310)
