Im currently running windows 10 32bit and im planning to upgrade to 64bit to maximize RAM usage. Is my processor compatible?
The answer is yes. Your CPU has full support for any windows/Linux x86/X64 systems.
Win10 can work on much older (than yours) CPUs
Thanks! Will be upgrading now
If you want to use x64 windows, you should have at least 4GB of memory installed so it will run well. Realistically 8GB is a good placed for Windows 10.
If you have 2GB of system memory it could also run, with that configuration you could also play games such as Ultra Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6 and so forth well, if a proper graphics card provided...
You will find even 32-bit games will run better with 4GB or more.
64-BIT PC GAMES » HARDCORE GAMES™
You are right, 32-bit applications running within compatibility mode is at no performance loss, and the underlying 64-bit system resources provided by O/S would also boost them That is the meaing of x (eXtension) in x64 processor and O/S. But it requires more room to switch between 32-bit and 64-bit, and cost of 64-bit computing itself is essentially much higher. So the larger the system memory is provided, the system performs smoother. But for some games as what I mentioned above, they does not consume too much system memory, so enough is OK for some situations!
