I'm at a loss. I have spent all day trying to fix this problem and I'm beginning to think I'm SOL. I keep getting the BSOD whenever my laptop (HP G72 bt-00, upgraded to Windows 10) boots with the AMD HD5000 driver enabled. The error is VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (atikmpag.sys). Windows 10 is completely up to date. Here are the solutions I have tried:
1. Uninstalled driver using AMD Clean Uninstall (boots up fine, graphics don't look great but it works)
2. I reinstalled the driver using AMD-Catalyst utility. (Boots to black flickering screen, Restarts to BSOD)
3. I can disable the driver and the computer works fine with the exceptions of some sub-prime graphics.
I would like to have decent graphics again. Any thoughts?
As you probably know, the 5000 series is a legacy product with limited support for Win10 > AMD Radeon™ Software Support for Legacy Graphics Products
I can't find any info on your model laptop, but the processor determines how you update the graphics...Intel or AMD. > Laptop graphics update...How to
