Onboard sound was working fine before installing an RX480. Now onboard shows as unplugged and onboard sound is gone

I purchased a RX480 8GB and installed it. Everything relating to the card including the HDMI sound output of the card is working. But my onboard sound is gone and therefore the ability to use headphones. I tried the following:

  • I unplugged the HDMI TV (still no onboard sound)
  • I reinstalled the onboard realtek audio drivers after uninstalling them (still no onboard sound)
  • I uninstalled the radeon software and drivers (still no sound)
  • I removed the graphics card (still no sound)

All drivers and software used is the most current.

Conclusion Radeon's poorly developed software and drivers are not fully compatible with windows 10 64-bit Pro N

Can someone please help me get the card working without taking my pc onboard sound away. Also getting the sound back in the first place would be a great feat of engineering.

Do I need to buy a dedicated sound card because of Radeon's poorly developed software? Will getting a soundcard result in the same drama?

I used nvidia cards for years and never had this problem. Thanks AMD.
