I've got an Asus K55DR laptop with an A8-4500M 1.9 Ghz procssor and a AMD Radeon HD 7400M+ HD 7640G Dual Graphics GPU (updated to windows 10 from Windows 7). I've tried to update the Catalyst driver of the GPU yo the newer Crimson Software 16.2.1 for the Legacy gpu and I did see an improved performance, but also many problems.
My laptop takes much longer to start up and is less responsive; looking for folders in explorer is very slow and more often than not explorer simply freezes; my fans start spinning very loudly from the moment I start up the laptop, but they become quieter when I start a game (Skyrim, with mods).
I've reverted back to the old drivers, but now the gpu performance is bad again.
Is there a way to use this new driver correctly or should i keep using the catalyst?
I've read that the crimson software for the legacy products is buggy, is it right?
