Why did you removed this option from radeon additional settings? How to now adjust saturation and other settings?
I think they have a problem with this version of the driver. I can't even start "Radeon Additional Settings", and is not just me, some other people are having the same problem. Maybe the driver has some problems when you install it (some thing are missing, or something like that), or I don't know, but almost sure, we won't have this problem when they release the next update.
Previous posts > Radeon additional settings can't open 16.12.1 drivers
AMD Issue Reporting Form
Why do you keep giving us that link. If you read what igor007 said, you would have known that he COULD OPEN Raden Additional Settings, but the link you posted is to a thread in which the author COULD NOT OPEN Radeon Additional Settings.
Because it's a issue. Some people have no issue at all. Some people with it open, don't have the required option. The point is...report it to AMD.
You could have said that in the first place. Honestly, if another thread had as title some other problem then I have (in this case, igor007 problem), why would I waste my time reading the answers to that problem, in hope that someone was offtopic has explained another problem?
If it's true, you should have said what "redfury" said:
"Those settings have been removed. Use previous driver if you need them."
Not trying to argue with someone else, because that won't help anyone.
Those settings have been removed. Use previous driver if you need them.
I believe people realize this. The question is why?
The annoying thing is that this happened with the advanced video settings & features like multi-monitor hotkeys. At the time (over a year ago), we were told the functionality such as gamma and vibrancy sliders would be returning to the new control panel eventually, yet they have yet to appear. Now with the desktop colour settings being removed, more functionality has been reduced with no explanation. If they're not going to migrate them, at least keep them in the old CP.
The problem with the desktop colour settings being nixed in particular is a problem for HDTV's, as with many when you select PC Input as a source you get the most 'pure' picture without added processing by the TV - but colour settings such as saturation are grayed out. Adjusting these from the desktop was the only way to get decent colour saturation while preserving text clarity. Even my monitor has this issue, colour saturation is only available when selecting Theatre mode which is not ideal.
It seems really stupid to intentionally remove color saturation from the settings. So I hope this is only a temp thing like a bug.
16.12.1 reminds me Win 10. If it is a crap, why are you using it? Driver is broken.Just don't use it until it will be fixed.
The point is there's no indication they will add this back as they haven't for the other missing options, plus new drivers are frequently needed to fix issues with new games so using older drivers is not always a practical option.
"Use the older drivers" is an absolutely pointless response in a support forum which is primarily used to raise issues with drivers. You could have that response for every thread on here, the reason for this forums existence is to pass along customer concerns/issues to the development team.
i am not responsible for 16.12.1 stupid innovations and errors. If you need color control (FOR NOW) you need to use 16.11.5 and wait clarification about this issue in 16.12.1 I think many people (including me) are waiting this clarification.
Again, duh. I know you have nothing to do with it. Your suggestion is obvious and therefore pointless.
Has anyone tried to use and older version of catalyst center (now known as Additional Settings)? For SOME programs, you can simply Copy/Paste it's files and it will still work because it doesn't need files that are installed in other place.
I'm asking this because I know for sure (just tried it), that you can copy the files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD" (Windows x64 users), in another location, and you can still use "Radeon Additional Settings" (driver 16.11.5).
And that button from "AMD Radeon Settings", under preferences, is just launching "CCC.exe" file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\CNext\CCCSlim" (again Windows x64 users).
The point of this, is that if you have the new driver (ReLive edition), you may still be able to use the old "Radeon Additional Settings", with the options you need.
If someone want to try this with me (and has ReLive edition installed), just send me a private message, and I'll tell you what to do, and also i'll send you the old version of "Radeon Additional Settings". I would try this on my PC, but that would mean to uninstall my current driver (6.11.5), reinstall ReLive driver, and if it doesn't work, I would have to reinstall driver 16.11.5.
I tried what I said in my previous reply, and it worked. Now I have "Crimson ReLive Edition" with the old "Radeon Additional Settings".
First, you need "Radeon Additional Settings" from a previous driver version (I use 16.11.5, because there I have what I need). To get that, you can send me a private message and I can give you those files, but only from version 16.11.5, I don't have them from another version. Or (if you want to do it yourself) you can install any driver version you want (Crimson Edition, I don't know if it will work with older version), then go to "C:\Program Files (x86)" and copy AMD folder to another location. Then uninstall what driver version you used, and then install Crimson ReLive. DON'T FORGET TO RESTART YOU COMPUTER EVERY TIME IT IS NEEDED.
After installation is done, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)", delete AMD folder (you can make a backup of that if you want), but to be able to delete that folder, DON'T start anything from AMD, or else they may run in background and you won't be able to delete that folder. In case you started it by mistake, then restart you computer.
After you deleted it, simply copy the AMD folder you have from a previous driver you want/have, and you are done. Now you have the old "Radeon Additional Settings" with all the options you want. You can even start it directly from "AMD Radeon Settings" under "Preferences" tab.
I BADLY need 3 features that were removed from AMD Software and I can't see them yet on Relive Software:
1. Profiles. (I need to be able to create user profiles for color, contrast, gamma, etc. for quick load.)
2. Image enhancement. (Possibility to adjust Contrast - Brightness - Gamma)
3. Color Calibration. (Possibility to adjust Red - Green - Blue)
What s.valentin suggest might work, but this is still a hack and ultimately I need these features well integrated in AMD Software. I don't understand at all why AMD would remove such essential features from their driver interface. I use my computer in different light environment ranging from full sun, to complete dark and I need to adjust monitor Contrast - Brightness - Gamma and Color temperature ALL THE TIME. Is no way I can do this from the hard accessible monitor buttons and the result won't be the same anyway. Even very old versions of drivers from intel, nvidia, and amd support these basic functions.
Because of this problem I am forced to use a very old Catalyst driver, that at least have these basic functions still working. Of course, by doing that I lose all the goodies that come with the new software.
Please AMD team, bring back these essential features.
Your feedback has been noted and conveyed to the Driver Engineering team.
I hope you deliver it to the driver team in giant neon letters.
Yeah, I don't think my solution will work for what you want. Some of those options were removed before Crimson release.
1. You still have "Presets" but you can't set a key, or a combination of keys to easily switch between them. Even so, they still don't work all the time. Almost all the time, all the presets have the last settings you chosen.
2. Contrast, Brightness, we still had until ReLive release (from what I understand). But not gamma. For that you need to use a tool from your OS.
I used a lot that profiles option in the past. It was very easy to use with the option to choose a set of keys to switch between them.
Let's hope what "ray_m" said, will happen. After all, you should NEVER REMOVE something what your costumers are using. You are only making them mad, and even some choose to by video cards from another manufacture.
I was so nervous about this issue that I returned my freshly-bought RX480. I hope this will be fixed at all.
I understand that you want to migrate the settings from the old control panel to the new control panel. But maybe the developers should wait removing these settings (from the old panel) when they have successfully implemented in the new control panel.
A bit off-topic but the same goes for the extra settings like AMD steady view. You can only switch it on and off in the new control panel. And it’s now crap compared to the extra control we used to have in the old control panel.
Today, one day after release of Crimson ReLive 16.12.2 this problem still isn't fixed!! How long are we supposed to wait for a simple fix?
I'm even considering to return my new rx 480 for an Gtx model, because the color calibration settings were very important for me. Pls fix this ASAP.
Meanwhile, you can do what I suggested. It's not a "hack" as "tryrantilles" said, you simply use and older version of "Radeon Additional Settings".
I hope that in future updates, they will add back all the options, if not, I will keep using the old version of "Radeon Additional Settings", because it will not affect the driver. Alter all, is not hard at all, you just have to copy and paste some files after you update your driver. "Radeon Additional Settings" is actually a separate program.
I don't really need the options the were removed with the release of Crimson version, but if you do, you can try what I said, with that version of driver.
Thanks for your help, but isn't the fact that we need to use old drivers to use the addidtional display setting ridiculous? I mean what's the logic behind removing stuff where a lot op customers are satified about?
I don't understand them either, but I'm still not going to buy Nvidia video card, because they are screwing with their own customers (reducing game quality through drivers just to run better then AMD is the prime example).
We'll just have to wait and see what AMD is going to do about our complaints.
I recall myself moving from Nvidia for their artifitial not giving features when GT card doesn't get something while GTX does. But stripping away feature which you had is even worse and since the very first month being on AMD I constantly saw how AMD strips those features off like removing gamma slider which I used. Now it went too far, I hope they not just fix one driver but their broken policy. AMD, become great again.
Its extremely lame these options have been removed. I need saturation for gaming on my washed out TN panel. Please add it back. I'm using VibranceGUI which has saved the day
It doesn't even need to install. But I'm rather do these tweaks direct through Relive. Please don't let me Relive another update without colour tweaks.
I really hope to see Profiles, Image enhancement and Color Calibration back in the next version of ReLive software. I will wait patiently, but I truly hope the software team will give them max priority.
I'm ready to return my 480x, a complete removal of controls that i use ALL the time and the lack of proper performance make me want to never use AMD again. I've used AMD since I had my two nVidias burn themselves out after my first Voodoo card. I've used AMD forever and the way the company is moving right now and the development team involved is seriously disappointing.
Games in general are being geared directly toward nVidia cards.
The settings are available using this fix > Can't open Radeon Additional Settings...Part 3 A FIX !!
With all due respect AMD, color calibration is a very important feature which hopefully the team is implementing the panel into the crimson GUI.
I believe the last time I installed Crimson, the only CCC panel left over was in fact the color calibration section?
So am I correct in saying that you have finally eliminated the old CCC panel from crimson?
I have changed the Relive's Cnext folder in program x86 with the same folder in the last crimson driver.First I have deleted Cnext folder in the Relive and I replaced it with the folder in the last Crimson driver, 16.11.5 , 25 november.
I had found a solution to get back the crimson Additional settings after installing relive drivers and AMD settings.
Here is what i did....
Edit : I found that there was no Gama correction. then I installed the very old Omega CCC. Still everything works Lolllllll..
I hope you guys can get that back too.
Can't open Radeon Additional Settings...Part 3 A FIX !!
here i have a solution for that ->
based on posted solution - but changed for only necessary installs
instructions in readme
mh, due to i am stupid i packed the wrong msi xD // now its working -> simply re-download the archive
Finally, after a long wait I see the brightness control integrated on Radeon Crimson Relive v.17.7.2 on 2017.07.28! Finally. Thank you AMD.
To access it open Radeon settings > Display section > Color (button with a small icon in front that looks like biohazard sign to me :P) Here I can change Color temperature, Brightness, Hue, Contrast and Saturation.
I still can't find anything about possibility to adjust RGB channels independently, but these brightness-contrast controls are really useful to me.
I hope RED, GREEN, BLUE, adjustments will be added soon.
