Will Wraith Cooler work on a FX9590 to keep it cool and if not, is there another air cooler that mounts to the Processor like the Wraith that would work?
The wraith cooler was not designed to work with the 220w processors.
No air cooler is relevant in use with the fx 9000 series processors, If you want to use air go with the 8000 series otherwise think water.
Thanks for the feed back. Can anyone recommend a good cooler. I am looking at Cooler Master and Thermaltake, both say they will work on a AM3+ socket, but don't say anything about what size processor.
I had no problems using a Corsair H100i with AMD FX 9370 and 9590 on two PCs.
Best best for the FX-9590 is one of the dual fan 140mm CPU coolers like the ones Corsair and Arctic offer. They can handle the TDP that CPU cranks out.
I ended up going with the Thermaltake Masterliquid Pro 120, so far its worked very well. Was going to upgrade to the Ryzen until I saw the slow clock speeds. I work with AutoCAD and SketchUp witch still only use one processor. Look's like when I do upgrade I will have to switch over to Intel to get a faster clock speed.
