Hi, I recently purchased a XFX Radeon RX460 4GB, I'm upgrading to it from a Radeon HD7700 series, yet when I install the new gpu, when I power on my pc there is no display, my mouse and keyboard's lights do not come on or anything. It works just fine when I put the 7700 series card back in it.
I'm using an Acer Predator AG3620
(Acer Predator AG3620-UR20P Gaming PC - 3rd generation Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz, 12GB DDR3, 2TB HDD, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce… )
^^ Everything there is stock except for the GPU and hard drives, I have windows 7.
It has a 500w power supply, and 12gb of ram.
I've tried getting drivers for the new card even before installing it, I've tried updating the BIOS (Which I did), and I get no luck.
I also find that if I unplug the 6 pin power connector from the card, the keyboard and mouse lights will come on, and I will get the beep that I normally do when I turn on the pc.
When powered, the blue light on the card comes on indicating it has power.
Sorry if this is all over the place, but any help is appreciated.
First off try the new GPU in a different computer to see if it works.
Test your power supply, or try a higher wattage power supply.
Or...
Acer used an OEM motherboard for that model. It may be set to not allow component upgrades that the system can not recognize.
Go into the BIOS to see if you can turn off the secure boot. Then try to install the card. If it does not work you will need to check with Acer to see what cards are approved to use on your motherboard.
