So I have a R9 390x on a linux system (RHEL 6, CentOS 6 to be precise). I plan on using this graphics card for OpenCL pretty much exclusively. Since I don't care to use this graphics card for video purposes do I still need to install the AMDGPU-PRO driver?: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDGPU-PRO-RedHat-Install.aspx
Or acn I simply just install the OpenCL 2.0 driver?: AMD OpenCL™ 2.0 Driver
Bonus question: Will the OpenCL driver listed above support an R9 390x?
Bonus question 2: The AMDGPU-PRO driver help page above includes a helper preinstall helper script to make sure all of the dependencies are resolved before installing it. Will this same script work for making sure the OpenCL 2.0 driver dependencies are resolved?
Bonus question 3: Will I need to uninstall/remove OpenCL 1.2 before installing this driver? The machine came with some OpenCL .so(s) that came with the old card.
I am trying to figure out how to install the amdgpu-pro drivers for opencl compute only purpose, on a headless Centos 7. Still stuck! Did you have any luck?
