I've been having some big problems with my Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB RX480. The gist of it is that any games that I play crash constantly whenever I use a driver other than 16.7.3.
On 16.7.3 I can play:
The Witcher 3
Performance is adequate, but i would like to take advantage of the extra stability and performance of the newer drivers.
I have tried: 16.9.2, 16.10.3,16.11.1,16.11,2. In each case I have tried it both as an upgrade and as a clean install using DDU, the results are the same.
The same games mentioned above crash.
Cities: Skylines, plays for about 2 minutes and then hangs (with sound still audible). Looking at the logs I see a lot of these errors:
d3d11: failed to create index buffer of size 4848 [0x887A0005]
d3d11: failed to create vertex buffer of size 12160 [0x887A0005]
Dota2: Same behaviour as Cities, but after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay
Batman: Arkham Origins. Crashes on loading the menu with the attached error message.
The Witcher 3: Crashes as soon as gameplay starts.
Temperatures appear fine..
IDLE: CPU: 29 ; GPU: 47
Load: CPU: 45 ; GPU: 81
i5 6400 + Noctua NH-U14S cooler
Asus Z170-E Motherboard
8GB Corsair Vengeance
Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 4GB
LG 29UM68-P monitor (freesync ultrawide) on DP
Windows 10 Pro
Things i've tried:
- Re-installing drivers using DDU and anti-virus off
- Disabling driver signing verification
- SFC /scannow
Any advice would be appreciated!
