Hello, I just updated to 16.10.3 for windows 7 64 bit and now my keyboard disables and re-enables while I watch youtube videos. This is really strange.
replace batteries first, "found from experience had mouse do same thing when battery was low"
is adapter in in usb2.0 slot . "found from experience usb3.0 overheats adapters"
separate motherboard usb slots for mouse and keyboard, they don't work well using usb splitter got a usb2.0 and 3.0 had problems with them disconnecting
check usb cable connector if it plugs into motherboard
check device manager for any obvious yellow or red markers
could be a voltage drop (psu issues)
run and see if any high latency issue's appear. You can general tell high latency issues because most of the time it effects on-board sound, music or voice gets choppy or broken up
This has been happening for years and typically has nothing to do with the graphics card drivers . give this web page a read
Can you please tell me which System Specs you have?I got a Sapphire R9 390X Nitro and got the same problem with drivers after Sept. 2016.
I think it depends on the Intel USB Drivers and drivers after Sept. 2016.But - and thats good to know - older drivers got the same problems but not very much like a driver after Sept. 2016 (only under heavyload of the whole computer).
catchabreakThx for your answers which i'll missed in my own thread for searching the problem or find a solution.
Hope that we find a solution or otherwise i have to return to NVIDIA.
Greetings from Germany
Hi Chris, I rolled back to Crimson 16.10.1 and have no problems. I have a sapphire R9 380 nitro.
I tried every driver from August 16 until today and have on every driver the same problem :/
Doesn't fix it but thx anyway
Witch Mainboard and CPU do you have?
I have a ASUS M5A97 mobo and an AMD FX 8350 cpu.
Thats an other Systembuild but theres one match. I think you've got the same USB Chip (ASMedia) 'cause the board came from the same manufacturer like mine.I really think that there's the problem with the driver that the Crimson overload the PCI-E Bus so that anything on the PCI-E Lanes begin to stutter and/or the sound start to crackling/popping.
I got the same problem with my system and under a DirectX Software it results in USB Dropouts (but it looks like the whole USB Ports don't get enough Voltage and disconnect/connect very fast). This ends up in the stuttering of the Mouse/Keyboard and the terrible sound poppings/cracklings.
Anyway, i don't get any answer from AMD direct and talked to Sapphire and Intel and i hope AMD is doin' something. Think we can only wait and hope for some positive response.
The sounds I heard were new hardware detected sounds and I watched my keyboard lights turn on and off repeatedly. I watched a few youtube videos with the 16.10.3 drivers. I didn't try any games. I would not be surprised if my keyboard disabled in games too. That would be unacceptable. I'm going to wait for another version of Crimson to come out before I try updating. Hope they fix this.
Be sure to report it > AMD Issue Reporting Form
This is done already since 1-2 weeks from my site.
Believe me you won't have much fun in the games. Not only the Sound poppin / crackling is very terrible even the stuttering of every USB Device make everyting unplayable. I wait now for the response from AMD.
ASRock itself said that's AMDs faultIntel said it's AMDs fault.Sapphire said it's AMDs fault too.And AMD don't response -_-
I wait only 2 weeks from now. If then there's no feedback from AMD or a better driver i will change back to NVIDIA then is AMD dead for me.
Did you also tried to uninstall all universal serial bus controllers in device manager? If not, you can try that. Right click on every instance and choose uninstall, reboot afterwards your pc and see if the issue reoccurs. Another thing you can try is to disable USB selective suspend. Here you can find how to disable it: How to Fix an Annoying Windows USB Problem | Gizmo's Freeware
Today I noticed my keyboard started turning off and on with the old drivers that I (before) didn't have a problem with. It happened two places: 1) when my computer was locked and 2) when I was watching a youtube. So it could be the drivers which I initially thought it was, but now I don't know. I tried uninstalling all my usb serial bus controllers in the device manager, but that disabled my mouse and keyboard before I could get them all, so scratch that idea. Next I disabled selective suspend in the power settings of my pc. That might fix it, but we'll see. If not, hmmm...
