    Trouble updating to new drivers.

      I have amd radeon R7  I've tried 3 times now and i keep getting the same response of it stating its not updating

            AMD: Radeon (TM) R5 M330

                      Radeon R7 Graphics.

             

            Laptop: Asus A555D

             

            OS: Windows 10 64 Bit

             

            Drivers 15.12- Problem updating to 16.9.2

             

            Main display: Labtop screen 1920-1080 Refresh 60HZ

            Second Monitor: Old Sharp 1280-1080 Refresh 60HZ Normal old plug in.

            Processor Amd: FX-8800P Radeon R7, 12 compute Cores, 4C+8G, 2.10GHz

            Max Cpu Amd Quad Core FX 8800P-3.47GHz

             

             

            "Problem I'm having is as stated above when i go to update from 15.12 to 16.9.2 it will download all drivers install all beside the one you see that failed above ^^ then it says problem installing Restart now Restart later I've tried it 3 times so far so went and made a post on here.

             

            There is No problem with the game's as of right now for i am Only trying to update the drivers.

            I have the same problem: my 'Radeon Control Centre' keeps inviting me to install the new 21.19.137.1 driver, but it fails every time, same message in the log file that's produced.

            AMD Display Driver

            Error messages
            Driver Install: the installation failed

            It also fails if I go to the AMD website, and run the 'find the latest driver' tool.

            And thirdly Microsoft's system updates have been trying to install it for me, and *that* has been failing.

            A triple fail whammy

            It has been doing this for several weeks, I've probably tried it at least half a dozen times in that period, never worked yet, finally I got irritated enough to seek out a support forum.

             

             

            My system details, should they have any bearing whatsoever on the fact that this poorly designed installer totally fails with no useful error message whatsoever, ahem...

            AMD Graphics Card: Radeon R7 200 Series

            Desktop PC running the latest Windows 10 64bit (v1607 build 14393.351)

            Current graphics driver: radeon 16.7.3

            My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2433 1920x1200 60Hz on a DVI connection

            Motherboard is Gigabyte X58A-UD3R, CPU is an Intel Core i7 X980 3.33GHz hexacore, 

            I've got 6GB of RAM

             

            For what it's worth, I've had this graphics had in my machine for years, and the driver updates have always worked fine until this one.

             

            Oh and I also tried the tip above of "Empty the folder C:/AMD of all previous drivers" but that made no difference whatsoever.

              No chance of a reply to this?

              I had a prompt from the Radeon driver update again today... and again the install FAILED in the same way.

               

              If no-one on this forum knows the answer, is there a way to get actual tech support about this from AMD?

                              Hi Matt, I don't understand why you want to board cluttered with duplicate threads about the same problem, but in any case I already did start my own thread yesterday, as ordered by 'kingfish'. It is here https://community.amd.com/message/2758543

                              All it's received so far is another post with someone else having the same problem.

                               

                              Is there an actual AMD Tech Support contact where I can get assistence with this issue? So far I've been looking for answers on this forum for nearly 10 days now and have received nothing but snarkiness.

                                  Thanks. AMD Tech Support is closed on the weekends, but if you want a reply ASAP i would recommend creating an E-Ticket here. Otherwise you should get a response to your thread within 48-72 hours.

                                   

                                  Both of you please drop it now, i have better things to do on a sunday than clear up forum arguments. Lets focus on helping the opening poster or not post any further in this thread. Any more back and forth which is not helping or answering the OPs question and i will lock the thread.
