Installing AMD drivers on new 480 causes black screen

Attempting to upgrade from Sapphire 7850.

Problem: when I install any AMD driver display turns off with "no signal". Reboot turns off display after circling dots.

Selecting Microsoft Basic Display Adapter works well.

Tried OS reset, CMOS reset, installing via catalyst installer or manually selecting driver.

In safe mode's device manager display driver is correctly detected as 480, but my display has warning sign on it. Installing display driver of my particular model doesn't help. See attached snip

I tested the card on my friend's Intel system and it works well there, burning through Furmark without issues.

Please advise.
