WoW Legion Driver crash - RX480

    solado

      Hi,

I upgraded from a R9 270X to a RX480 Nitro+ and since the upgrade I have been having constant crashing while in game. I get the windows message the driver stopped responding and recovered successfully. However this leads to a lock up of the game and I have to end the task in task manager to reopen everything.

I haven't overclocked the card & using a 700w Antec power supply which I know is working fine. I also completely stripped the old R9 drivers before installing the driver 16.8.3 for the rx480.

I get the same issue, happens enough throughout the day to be a huge pain for a game like WoW. I either get the same the driver has stopped responding and recovered or one that says Battle Net.exe has been blocked from using the graphics hardware

Try going removing the most recent driver using DDU and install Driver 16.7.1 from AMD. See if that helps.

Since the 16.9.1 Driver update I installed yesterday I have not gotten any crashes. Possibly this was fixed? Will update again after playing more but after ~1 day on the new driver I have gone from ~10 crashes per day to 0 so far.

                  Hi,

got the same Problem here. I´ve got a ASUS STRIX RX480 and after an hour of playing the driver crashes...

                    deimonics

                    might have a fix here.

when you open wow look at system and then your monitor wich is it set to?

                    primary> monitor1>monitor2(if have 2 or more)

im guessing its set to primary try to switch to monitor 1 and dx11 or higher

                    and let us know
