Audio crackling with RX400 series drivers

Question asked by insertcoins on Sep 3, 2016

I recently was fortunate enough to get an RX 480 but the video only drivers (no I didn't install the HDMI audio drivers) are causing audio crackle. I'm have two usb devices; a set of usb headphones with a built in DAC and an SMSL QS Pro DAC for my speakers and both devices have the same issue so it's not my hardware.

I've been going round and round with this issue for several days with no success. Many google searches show this has been as issue with Realtec sounds cards but as I'm not using my sound card those solutions aren't helping.

I know it's the video drivers because as soon I uninstall them (which I've done several times) the audio is fine.

Any suggestions?
